Makutu deeply cares about the community we serve. It is easy to shy away from responsibility and get bogged down in business, but we chose to be distracted. We want to make a difference in our generation.
In addition to making direct dollar donation to humanitarian causes, we volunteer and participate in efforts that can help with education and childhood development. In alignment with our core values, we are eager to participate in fundraisers that can help with betterment of humanitarian causes and cheer achievers.
Makutu donating to Mathew's Crossing Food Bank and ICAN as part of the Makutu Cares initiative - with Chandler city Mayor Jay Tibshraeny, officials from ICAN and Mathew's Crossing Food Bank.
Makutu chose to donate to ICAN since they are providing hope to youth - serving areas where 8 out of 10 young people are living in extreme poverty. Four of those children will go to bed hungry at night and eight will be using drugs or alcohol to cope with the harsh realities they face. Joining gangs becomes a more viable choice than graduation in the community ICAN serves. Makutus is there to help combat these issues and build strong futures for them and for our community.
It is hard to imagine kids going hungry in USA. It is depressing to learn that currently, AZ is tied as one of the worst states in the nation for childhood hunger with more than 1 in 4 children not knowing where their next meal will come from! Mathew's Crossing food bank is doing great work and we support their efforts.
